Reflecting on 2020 and Beyond

As the year draws to a close, there will be mixed feelings for many of us. It’s certainly been a year unlike any other, in which we’ve seen almost the entire world come to a complete standstill, due to the coronavirus pandemic. We’ve been reflecting on 2020, looking back at how GenRev has survived this difficult year, thanks to the support of our customers.

New challenges and helping the nation run smoothly

We all expected 2020 to be the year when Brexit would claim our full attention, but that quickly went onto the back burner once Covid came along. As shops, restaurants and pubs were forced to close, office workers moved their computers into bedrooms and spare rooms, remote working became widespread for the first time in the UK.

With the country in lockdown, logistics was labelled an essential service. We might not be nurses, doctors or carers, but deliveries are essential to keep our supply chains running. One of our first actions at GenRev was to offer our services to keyworkers, as we continued to provide our customers with the delivery solutions that best suited their needs.

We took on board all government advice concerning employee and customer safety. All our employees were given guidance on social distancing with clear protocols in place from the outset to protect our workers and customers. And we’re proud to say our employees rose to the occasion, going above and beyond to ensure safety was, and remains, a top priority.

Field service engineers found themselves under extreme pressure, as boilers and appliances continued to need repairs and replacements throughout lockdown. Our In Boot and In Night distribution services were crucial, as companies faced staff shortages due to illness, and an increased demand from a housebound nation.

Thank you to our customers!

We’d like to say a big ‘Thank You’ to all our clients, for your ongoing support throughout the year, with special thanks to Bracebridge Engineering, Bosch, Komatsu, SMT and Beko. We greatly value all of our customers at GenRev, many of whom we have been supporting with our smart delivery solutions for several years. We’re also looking forward to working with a couple of new customers, who will coming on board early in 2021.

Looking ahead, we have some exciting developments in the pipeline, which we plan to introduce during 2021. We’ve been hard at work developing our new Smart Delivery Box, which has been created specifically to meet the changing demands within the online shopping and parcel delivery sector. It’s been carefully designed to fulfil certain needs and it’s something we’re very excited about!

We’ll be releasing more details in the new year, so keep an eye on our blog page for updates. But until then, we’d like to wish all of our GenRev customers a Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2021.
